Highway 1

We left the serene Redwoods for a beautiful drive down Highway 1 to San Francisco. Along the way we stopped in Mendocino and Sonoma County, both along the coast. It was a remarkable experience driving Highway 1 in our bus, the turns were giant and the drops even bigger. It is similar to a slowed down ski line where you know if you fall that’s it. Mike did a great job maneuvering the machine allowing for Sam to pop the back top van and see the scenery like few have before.

We spent part of the drive down exploring the forest and coast, it’s nice to be able to pull over to the side of the road and walk 10 minuets into the woods escaping the cars and concrete for a quiet walk up a river. The shells glistened with remarkable colors while the purple sea urchins dried their colors into the rocks below. The patterns of the natural world reflect the harmony that connects everything to each other.

We are now in the Berkeley, CA area looking for the next bus friendly adventure…

Saw your bus in Los Altos this morning (Saturday, Jan 7). I suspect you are finding it quite different from Berkeley since Los Altos/Los Altos Hills makes no secret of the fact that we are one of the wealthiest and best educated communities in the country, with local newspaper articles noting that 11 billionaires live within 10 miles of where your bus was parked this morning.

Los Altos apparently also has a the highest number of douche bags per capita. We saw you guys on route 1 through Half Moon Bay and were excited about what you are doing, not how much money like Mr. Anderson.

I snapped a pic of your bus parked around the corner from my place in Berkeley. Wish I’d had time to connect but was leaving for Portland. There are many people who would love to collaborate/work with you-especially in the East Bay! Not sure where you are now but if still in the Bay Area, let’s talk. Beautiful lessons and creativity to you on your journey.

You parked in Davenport, Ca right across the street from my house. We oogled over your bus from our Balcony. Our kids watched for you everyday when we drove from Davenport to Santa Cruz or Half Moon Bay! Welcome!!
